Brief: This project involved establishing a creative direction for Graace's new EP 'Afterimage' and its accompanying singles. My role included providing concepts, overseeing lighting, hair, makeup, styling, typography, as well as providing support during the photoshoot and refining the images during post-production.

Through the body of work we would use ‘reflection’ as a physical device throughout the artworks to capture the process of reflecting on past relationships. This is achieved through the use of various techniques like mirror work, double exposure edits and collaged elements. Also we would incorporate reflective elements in the makeup, styling and set design.

Each stage of the process is captured through different personas, each with their own unique styling alongside a vivid colour palette to be used throughout the campaign.

Reflection

Afterimage

"Afterimage" is defined as the impression of a vivid image that lingers even after the eyes are closed or the image has disappeared. We aimed to capture this concept in the EP cover through the creative direction, styling and post-production edits. The blurred type and glowing effect behind Grace are designed to enhance this visual impact, capturing the essence of an afterimage.

Jealous Type

‘Jealous Type’ serves as the first single cover in the EP Project. Reflecting the essence of the song, we developed a creative direction encompassing lighting, styling, set design, and typography. To embody the song's sentiment, a shattered glass piece was crafted for Grace to pose behind. We actively participated in refining the cover through retouching.

Love is Getting Wasted

The second single ‘Love is Getting Wasted’ explores feelings of angst and inner turmoil within a relationship. Therefore we followed a darker palette in terms of lighting and styling. The layout was kept simple with no type to keep focus on the image itself.
